Educational opportunities for nurses abound in Illinois. The state has 50 colleges, universities, and community colleges that offer campus based nursing programs.
There are 19 private universities that offer Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degrees. Three of those schools, DePaul University, St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing and The University of St. Francis, offer both MSN and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees. Loyola University and Rush University, the 15th rated nursing school in the US, offer MSN, DNP and PhD in Nursing degrees.
There are also five public universities that offer MSN degrees. Two of those schools offer MSN and DNP degrees, while University of Illinois at Chicago, the 11th rated nursing school in the US offers MSN, DNP, and PhD in Nursing degrees.
